HOW TO PROPERLY "CONCERT": A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

When going to a concert in downtown Portland, first things first- food carts. This ones a favorite of mine! And not just because of it's name (or hashtag) ;).

(This will forever and always be one of my favorite pictures ever taken).

Next- you take a picture in front of the parking garage, because it's not a true crystal ballroom concert unless you take a picture in front of this wall.

Then you wait in line for a couple hours...

Then, once they let you into the venue, you run up to the front and claim your space...and wait there for a couple more hours...

Then you ROCK OUT.

Also- as you are rocking out, the lead singer may just point directly at you as he sings the words "you're so delicious..." Your friends will laugh at you. And you will freak out. It's totally okay.

(ps- if you ever end up going to a Matt Nathanson concert, know that he is basically the weirdest, most perverted person ever. And it's kind of hilarious...)

Lastly, you take a blurry picture with your favorite singer ever. Because even though he was just the opening act, you totally came to this concert just to see him.

ALL THE PRETTY GIRLS ON A SATURDAY NIGHT

The Fun. concert was so much fun!
...Sorry, I had to.
But really though: a few weeks ago I went to the fun concert with my two favorite blonds and our awesome mommies.
We got in arguments with the people around us,
then we made up with the people around us and hugged it out,
and then the people around us got really, really drunk and tried getting into all of our pictures.
Good times, my friends. Good time.

Other things to note:
-First ever outdoor concert, it was pouring rain which was actually amazing.
-They had, hands down, the best concert tee's ever.
-I got goosebumps when they sang "The Gambler."
-Nate is really, really cute.

I GIVE A CRAP ABOUT AN OXFORD COMMA

I've seen Vampire Weekend in concert twice before, and both concerts were unforgettable. It was back in my middle school days, when I was young and naïve and didn't even know what a mosh pit was (and holy cow was I surprised when that started happening. I had no idea what was even going on!) The venues were small and the tickets were cheep. VW had only just released their freshmen album and they weren't very well known- so it was fun and intimate; I swear Ezra Koenig stared straight into my soul for half of it ;)

This concert, however, was completely different-in a good way! Vampire Weekend has released two more CDs since then and have become a pretty popular band. The venue was huge and the lights and effects and such were crazy! So. Much. Fun.

Obligatory pre-show pictures with our loot. And I mean, how cute are these shirts?! Favorite concert T's by far.

These cuties opened for Vampire Weekend. They're in a band called The High Highs (which is an absolutely fantastic name ;) and they're from Australia. Major babes.

Post-concert pictures because it was THAT GOOD.

Also, Vine. I'm obsessed with Vine, people. I didn't understand it at first but now I do. Obsessed.

BLIND PILOT & THE OREGON SYMPHONY

Last month my cute momma took me to go see one of my very favorite bands, Blind Pilot, perform with the Oregon symphony. Blind Pilot is a little band from Portland who have been making a name for themselves recently. They just performed on Ellen's birthday show, and she even named them her favorite band of 2013! How awesome is that?
It was really cool to see the Oregon symphony perform, too! I've been going through this really big classical music kick lately, so I found the whole thing so beautiful and fascinating. Music is just so cool, you know?!
Here's a video of my very favorite Blind Pilot song. The video isn't that great of quality (they don't allow you to take pictures/videos in the concert hall, but come on. Don't they know me? I always have to take pictures/videos. ;) but the song itself is great!

IS YOUR BED MADE? IS YOUR SWEATER ON?

(shirt & pants: hollister, tank: modbod, watch: nike fuel band {check it out here!}, shoes: cole haan).

This is what I wore to the Vampire Weekend Concert. (Which was beyond amazing, by the way).
More about that & all the other crazy happenings of my life coming soon!
But first, I have to try to get through the next two weeks of school.
Summer is so close I can practically taste it!

I'VE GOT SOUL BUT I'M NOT A SOLIDER.

Once upon a time, I was sitting in english class when i get a text message from my mom. The text message said this: "THE KILLERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE GOT THE TICKETS!!!!!!!!!"
You dont even know how hard it was for me to not jump up out of my seat and run out of the classroom. We won tickets to the killers!

And did you know that Brandon Flowers is the most adorable human being to ever live? It's true. I mean, just look at this face:

But let's back up a little bit. M83 opened up, and don't even get me started. THEY KILLED IT. Hands down the best opening act I've ever seen. They were crazy! Running and jumping around, throwing their guitars; they even opened up with some guy coming out in a pig mask with lazer beam eyes...? Yeah, it was basically the weirdest yet best opening act ever. Also: the lead singer? BABE.

Thank goodness we got to sit up in the Nike box seats. We successfully avoided the mosh pits and crowds and instead pigged out on salsa the entire night.
And did I mention how adorable Brando Flowers is?

The show was amazing. I loved how much was put into the whole show-the lights, the video clips playing in the background, it was just all so much fun! Very different than the acoustic sets I usually go to. ;)
The Killers definitely made it in my top 10 concerts!

JOSHUA RADIN & A FINE FRENZY

a super cool parking garage. the best named restaurant in all of portland. a waitress with an adorable accent. crazy men holding fake babies on the side of the street. attractive men that look just like james dean. trying to take a picture of that man without getting caught and failing miserably. getting front row seats. the lady that threatened to sue rockelle for talking to her. waiting and waiting and waiting. taking obnoxious and unattractive pictures to past the time. the weird girls behind us that kept trying to take pictures of my shoes. making new friends. namely, the guy standing next to us that said, "okay girls, you gotta hold your ground. because this sexy (points at his face) can only hold back so many people from trying to take our spots." also, emerald! the adorable girl standing right next to us. it was her first concert and joshua dedicated a song to her. she was bawling and kept looking at us saying, "DID YOU JUST SEE THAT?" alison sudol, the lead singer of a fine frenzy. newest girl crush, no questions asked. she's stinking adorable. and when she sang almost lover? AMAZING. i have no words. it was beautiful and emotional and you could've heard a pen drop in there. gave me chills. listen to it here, would ya? (i didn't take the video, but i was standing really close to the person that did.) the amount of times joshua looked right at me. all of us buying the same t-shirt. meeting him!!! how he remembered us from last year, and told us that we looked so cute and beautiful and all grown up. (!!!) telling him that i play guitar and then getting his picks. and he signed them, too!
basically, best concert of my life.
On to the pictures!

funny story: the lady that took pictures before us was really crazy. she put her hand on joshua radin's stomach for the picture and it was kind of... weird. cassidy, laura and cerena were appalled. "disgusting! who would ever do that?" they said. "are you guys kidding me?" i asked. "it's joshua radin! i would do it!" they didn't believe me. they told me i would never do something like that. and being myself, i had to prove them wrong.
by the way, rock. solid. you're welcome. (i know you were all wondering.)
also, this is now my facebook profile picture (but my mom is cropped out of it.) (sorry mom) and we totally look like couple. isn't that just the greatest thing you've ever heard?

life according to my iphone, the bachelorette, music, and other stuff.

I love hanging with friends and babysitting cutie patooties.

So, here's the dealio. I told myself I wouldn't watch The Bachelorette this season. I promised myself. But I was sick today...and there was nothing better to do...
and now I'm hooked. there's no stopping me now.
I'm pretty much head over heels in love with William. And i really, really do not like the wine making guy. or the bald guy. And there's just something about Bentley...
And seriously? What is up with Batman? And the guy that got drunk?
Oh boy...

In other news, I just discovered some great songs. I've been listening to them non-stop today.

1: Fix You-Coldplay
2:Colours-Grouplove
3:Big Jet Plane-Angus and Julia Stone
4:Skinny Love-Birdy
5:Holding a Heart-Girl Named Toby

Oh, and guess what? This is my 100th post! WOO HOO! My mom said that I should do a "100 things about me" post. And I said: "Ha. Right. I'm not that interesting."
So how about a 10 things about me post?
Okay, here we go...

1: I once got chased by a llama. Two of them, actually. They chased me and my mom and my mom hopped a fence and left me there to die. But don't worry. I used the force to make them back off. No harm was done.

2: I can some what play the guitar. But you will never hear me play! Never!

3: I can some what play the piano. I pretty much kick behind at "Let it Be" and "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)" but I cant really play anything else.

4: I once met Lebron James. He gave my brother a T-shirt.

5: I also met The Fonz. He was pretty much awesome.
(My brother and the Fonz)

6: I once woke up with a black eye. Just...woke up. I didn't do anything. If you wanna see pictures, click here. But just a warning, those pictures were taken back before I plucked my eyebrows...

7: I almost died in a mosh pit at a Vampire Weekend concert. (and seriously? who moshes to Vampire Weekend?!) I also punched a drunk teenager at a Dashboard Confessional concert.
(My mom and I at the Dashboard concert.)

(Ezra, the lead singer from Vampire Weekend.)

8: I've ridden a camel in the desert.

9: I went to the 25th anniversary of the goonies in Astoria, Oregon. (where they filmed it!) I got to meet some of the cast, and even got "arrested" in the jail!
10. I modeled once. Which is crazy because I am soooooo awkward in front of a camera.

Well...that's it! Holy cow that was a long post...
