HOW TO PROPERLY "CONCERT": A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

When going to a concert in downtown Portland, first things first- food carts. This ones a favorite of mine! And not just because of it's name (or hashtag) ;).

(This will forever and always be one of my favorite pictures ever taken).

Next- you take a picture in front of the parking garage, because it's not a true crystal ballroom concert unless you take a picture in front of this wall.

Then you wait in line for a couple hours...

Then, once they let you into the venue, you run up to the front and claim your space...and wait there for a couple more hours...

Then you ROCK OUT.

Also- as you are rocking out, the lead singer may just point directly at you as he sings the words "you're so delicious..." Your friends will laugh at you. And you will freak out. It's totally okay.

(ps- if you ever end up going to a Matt Nathanson concert, know that he is basically the weirdest, most perverted person ever. And it's kind of hilarious...)

Lastly, you take a blurry picture with your favorite singer ever. Because even though he was just the opening act, you totally came to this concert just to see him.

THE CRAZIEST PHOTOSHOOT OF MY LIFE

The other day my good friend Haley asked if I would model for her. We had this awesome idea of a Lana Del Rey/Priscilla Presley inspired shoot with big hair and red lips and vintage clothing and it was going to be magical, right? Wrong.
I'll spare you all the details but basically everything went wrong. We made the mistake of going to a beauty school to get my hair done, it took literally four hours, and by the time we were done and ready to take pictures it was pitch black outside. Amongst other things.
Not wanting all the time we spent on hair and make up to go to waste, we snapped a few photos outside (which passersby absolutely loved. I got all kinds of comments yelled by hipsters as they sped by on their bikes. Everything from "You look like a manikin!" to "What is she doing...?" to "WURK IT GUUURL!").
Then the owners of this cute little coffee shop/furniture store/plant growing place let us come into their store and take some pictures as they were closing up. They were so kind and we ended up quoting how to lose a guy in ten days the whole entire time.
Happy with how the pictures were coming out, Haley and I parted our separated ways with plans to go back out to Portland the next day and take more photos.
Then, not even five minutes into my drive home, I was rear-ended.
So it was a pretty crazy photoshoot, to say the least.
But Haley is a miracle worker or a magician or something, because the photos turned out amazing.

PS, check out Haley's facebook page here!

AND THEN IT SNOWED

The thing with Oregon is that it rains and rains and rains and rains, but as soon as the temperature hits 32 degrees the rain magically stops and we never get snow. ever.
So when it started snowing on Thursday the town went bonkers. School got out at noon and then didn't open back up till Tuesday, grocery stores and malls and basically every other store closed down, even church was canceled! (which I was very upset about, obviously....)
Having lived in upstate New York for 2 years, we're pretty used to the snow. A foot of snow is nothing to us, but it's pretty funny to see how all the other Portlanders react.

Of course when I looked out the window, all I saw was photoshoot, photoshoot, photoshoot.
Here are a few fun photos that were taken that day!

PS, on me:
Jacket- Tommy Hilfiger
Jeans- Abercrombie & Fitch

BLIND PILOT & THE OREGON SYMPHONY

Last month my cute momma took me to go see one of my very favorite bands, Blind Pilot, perform with the Oregon symphony. Blind Pilot is a little band from Portland who have been making a name for themselves recently. They just performed on Ellen's birthday show, and she even named them her favorite band of 2013! How awesome is that?
It was really cool to see the Oregon symphony perform, too! I've been going through this really big classical music kick lately, so I found the whole thing so beautiful and fascinating. Music is just so cool, you know?!
Here's a video of my very favorite Blind Pilot song. The video isn't that great of quality (they don't allow you to take pictures/videos in the concert hall, but come on. Don't they know me? I always have to take pictures/videos. ;) but the song itself is great!

guys, meet my new best friend

joshua Radin.

(laura, me, joshy radin, cassidy, whitney.)

on thursday, I went with some friends of mine to see Joshua Radin in concert. it was amazing! he is such a good singer.

first, we went to Gotham Tavern for some dinner. the food was delicious! and we thought it was pretty cool because...you know, gotham...batman...yeah, were dorks. :)

After the concert, as we were walking to our car, we saw Joshy in the window of some restaurant. Rockelle (cassidy's mom) walked in and told him how big of fans we were and asked if he would be willing to take a picture with us.
he was so nice! he came out and took tons of pictures. he told us how he wanted to move to portland, and that he loved us for being such big fans. and he said that we were cute!!

It was so much fun, and I cant wait till his next concert. here is a few of my favorite songs by him:
