Awkward+Awesome

Awkward: -My friend Cassidy invited me to see Cowboys and Aliens with her and her friend from school. I said “Heck yeah!” because dude? Daniel Craig? And Harrison Ford? Ohhhh dang.
But anyways, after the movie we went over to her friend’s house so that Cassidy and her mom Rockelle could say goodbye to her older brother. (He was leaving for his mission the next morning.) I introduced myself and wished him luck on his mission, then shook his hand. His handshake was SO. WEAK. Seriously guys. This is one of my BIGGEST pet peeves. When I shake a grown man’s hand, his hand shake should be stronger than mine. Wouldn’t you agree? I hate when guys handshakes are all limp and weird. You know?
Anyways, after we left, I explained all of this to Rockelle. She shared the same handshake pet peeve as me, which was refreshing. (I thought I was the only one) I told her not to say anything to anyone at all. Because that would be totally awkward if he found out, right? She promised she wouldn’t tell a soul, and I slept peacefully that night.
Then Sunday came around, and guess what Cassidy tells me? That Rockelle not only told somebody, but she told THE BOY. And not only did she tell the boy, but she told him about ME, and that I said it. At first I was really mad, but then I decided to look at it on the bright side. He was somewhat attractive, and maybe he will remember me…
Who am I kidding. There is no bright side to that. That was just plain ol’awkward.

-I had a sleepover at Laura’s house the other night. We were out in the road with her brother Erik just hanging out and talking and light saber fighting. (no big deal.) Laura and I decided to sit down on the ground so we could look at the stars. As I was sitting down, Laura said: “CasiDee. I think you’re sitting on something…” I stood up and to my surprise, saw that I had sat on a DEAD BIRD THAT WAS MUSHED INTO THE GROUND. You guys, I was so scared/freaked out/worried/grossed out/on the verge of puking that I couldn’t say anything. (This never happens to me! I always have things to say!) Erik started screaming things like “Oh my gosh! CasiDee! Remind me never to hug you ever! Oh gross! Oh GROSS! Ahhhhh!”And Laura was just laughing uncontrollably.

-The missionaries were over the other day (like always) and one of them was petting my dog. Then, out of nowhere, this missionary says: “Oh Gila…you’re worse than a California girl…” I asked him what he meant by this, and he look confused.“You know…because all California girls want is attention…?” I seriously laughed SO. HARD.

-Facebook video chat. Am I the only one who thinks this is awkward beyond awkward? Just because I am friends with someone on facebook doesn’t mean I want to talk to them. With normal chat I can just ignore someone and they will think that I'm not there. (come on, you know you've done this too.) But with video chat they can see when you say no! Dude! SO awkward!
{Laura and I using facebook video chat.}

-My school schedule came in the mail the other day. I died a little bit inside when I saw it.

Awesome: -I’ve gone to the pit of pitas (aka: The Pita Pit.) (aka: better than Disney world.) about 100 times this summer. It’s so so so yummy! And healthy! And yummy! Exclamation point!

- I’ve also been to Old Navy about 100 times this summer. My latest purchase is this really cute mint green cardigan jacket thingy. It’s so comfortable. Oh my dang.

-Speaking of Disney World...guess where I will be on my 16th birthday?!?!?!

-Speaking of my 16th birthday, guess who is going to be 16 in 6 months?!?!?!

-I got the new(ish) David Archuletta CD for like TWO BUCKS at a book store that is going out of business. It even came with a poster. Oh dang! Best two bucks I’ve ever spent!

-I bought some really cute bedding and a really cute mustache pillow from Urban Outfitters today! I am so excited to get them in the mail! :)

I've Got Purple Legs

(Sweater: Tommy Hilfiger outlet, Skirt: Guess outlet, Tights: J.Crew, Shoes: Style&Co)

Awkward: -I was asked to lead the music at a baptism on Saturday and I said yes, even though I don't know how to lead music. I just kinda stood up there and waved my arm around and pretended like I knew what I was doing.

-Before I explain this awkward, you should know two things. One: I played softball for the first time in a year just a few days ago…and now my body hurts sooooo bad. And two: I have this crazy Spanish teacher that is bald and likes to dance and wears the same shirt but in different colors every day. Okay, onward.
So, Yesterday, I walked into my Spanish class and all of the tables and chairs were gone. And my first thought was “cool, no Spanish today.” And then I was all like: “Nooooo, who am I kidding? With my luck, we are probably doing some dumb line dance or something.”
And guess what we did? A line dance. The dance included jumping up and down, running around in circles, and kicking our legs in the air. And we had to sing in Spanish while doing it. I was in so.much.pain.

-My Spanish teacher had these massive pit stains…it wasn’t pretty.

-One of my very best friends, Kristyn, is moving at the end of the school year, so she had a going away party at Skate world. As my friend and I were skating into the bathroom, I said: "Wow, I'm surprised that I haven't fallen yet!" And then guess what I did? I fell. In the bathroom. How GROSS is that?!? and to make things even better, there were toooons of people in there that saw. and they laughed at me.
-Sex Ed. Seriously, most awkward class ever.
Awesome: - THERE IS ONLY HALF A DAY LEFT OF SCHOOL. And I might skip it…
-Getting an A on my health final. I may or may not have started singing “sweet, sweet victory” :)
- This playlist. I seriously listen to it non-stop. I loooove the oldies.

-Church Softball!! It's so much fun!
-I love this cover of "First Day Of My Life" by: Bright Eyes and this cover of "Delicate" by: Damien Rice. She is so good!
-My dinosaur ring. It brings me good luck, so I wore it during my finals. Seriously guys? This thing is magical.

there is no real point to this post

(this picture has nothing to do with the post...besides the fact that it is the most awkward picture ever.)

Awkward: -running into a wall. and then saying sorry...to the wall... ummmm...yeah. this happens to me all the time.
-having to call members of my church to remind them of a upcoming party. i have this weird phone-phobia. i just cannot talk to people on the phone! so i had this whole speech written out ("hi my name is CasiDee from the council creek ward. I'm calling to tell you that this Friday...") and each time i made a call, i got one of two responses: (1) "ummm...yeah. i already knew.why are you calling me?" or (2) "i think you have the wrong number..." great.
-i went with my friend Laura to her older brother's boxing match. we were standing there, cheering him on, when some old guy with a beard and missing teeth came up to us and said: "you two are the prettiest girls here." and then winked and ran off.
-i accidentally broke my friend's finger while playing football with him. oops!

Awesome: -I went out to eat with my friend the other day. the waiter asked my little sister if she wanted french frys or tater tots with her meal. I then giggled and said: "Laura...give me some of your tots." and the waiter, with out even looking up from his pad of paper, said: " No, I'm freakin' starving! I didn't get to eat anything today! Freakin' idiot!" in the most perfect Napoleon Dynamite voice you will ever hear. it was like Napoleon himself was taking our orders. Laura and i started laughing so hard. we were crying, and mascara was running down my face. then the waiter said: "...i can tell this is going to take a while...should i come back?" which made us laugh even harder.
-we then went back to Laura's house and spent 2 hours learning the Napoleon Dynamite dance. we freakin kick behind at it, guys. for reals. maybe I'll post a video sometime...
-for a project, i had to interview the missionaries in my ward. i asked them who their favorite super hero was and why. one of them said: "Jimmer Fredette and the Bishop, because they both know how to effectively further the work of the Lord along."

now, for more awkward pictures. because i cant think of anything to say because my mouth hurts soooooooooo bad. dang braces.

just kidding. that last picture...that's awesome.

CasiDee

My Awkward and Awesome Week!

(thanks to the wonderful whitney for taking these pictures!)

so, i absolutely love the idea of "Awkward and Awesome Thursdays", but I seem to never have time to blog on thursday! so i'm gonna cheat and do my "Awkward & Awesome" on a Saturday. deal with it. ;)

Awkward:
-the amount of pictures of myself this post has. hahaha, modeling is not my forte.
-how long it took me to figure out the correct spelling of "awkward". i seriously do not know what I would do without spell check.
-you know that moment when you feel like someones looking at you, so you look up and see that someone is, in fact, looking at you? and then you make eye contact with that person and neither one of you look away? and its super awkward and you don't want to be the first one to look away but you just cannot stand staring at this person any longer? and then you finally look away, and you feel really dorky? yeah, this happened to me today. with a missionary. that's not even from my ward. during general conference. can you say, embarrassing?
-looking over at my friend during biology to see that she is reading the dating issue of the New Era. during biology, guys. who does that? and not only is she reading it, but she is reading it out loud. to the kids around her. I'm not sure if this should be awkward, or awesome...
-having a conversation with someone while going to the bathroom. 'nuff said.

Awesome:
-having all  of the youth over this morning for general conference!
-getting new missionaries. (oh...and one of them used to model for Abercrombie & Fitch.)
-getting my permit!!! I am going to be the best driver ever.
-the offical guide to stuff mormons like. this is one of those laugh-until-you-cry things. I especially love the "Church Dances" post. because what they say is so true.
-my friend posted this video on my facebook. i laughed so hard.

so there you have it! the awkward and awesome things that have happened to me this week. I'm not that great at writing on my blog, so I'm hoping by doing this i will get better!
