Last Week Of Summer

this week i:

- Went to olive garden with Laura and Erik. Accidently laughed when our waitress said her name was Latoya. Erik called her "La-toyota." Ate my weight in breadsticks. Drove around town singing at the top of our lungs. Went to the grocery store and bought face paint so Erik could dress up as the Joker. Convinced Erik to grow his hair out like James Dean. Watched Monk and Lost.

- Bought the most beautiful boat shoes ever! I also bought a pair of toms. (Pictures coming soon.)

- Decorated my binder. (I am seriously so proud of this thing.)

- Had a sleepover Laura. We did dishes (see the 5th picture...hehe) stalked our old missionaries on Facebook and watched 3 episodes of Lost. (We are almost done with the series!)

-Went to Ward Softball and found out that I totally rock at boxing. Yo Adrian!

- Went to the library. The man checking me out (I mean, checking my books out) tried to have a whole conversation with me about Alfred Hitchcock. It was awkward...

-Made an 80's music video.

-And ate way to much ice cream for one week.

School, here I come!

little handwritten notes & other random thoughts

today i wrote some little notes to leave in library books.
it was kinda sorta on my "mid-year goals" list. (send handwritten notes to people.)
i guess it could also go under the "stop being such a perfectionist" goal too. i wanted to throw a lot of  almost all of all of the notes away because of stupid reasons. the edges weren't perfectly cut, or my handwriting didn't look perfect. Seriously guys, it's like i'm OCD or something...

in other new, i'm obsessed with this song and this song.

i went shopping the other day. j.crew outlet like woah!

while i was out shopping, i met the man of my dreams.
(according to Laura and my mom, at least.)
he was super super tall and super super skinny.
he parted his hair right down the middle.
it was long-ish, so it sat very awkwardly on the sides of his head.
it was also very greasy, but i wont mention that...
his jeans: light wash, super flare, and the best part? back pockets as front pockets!
he walked around with his hands on his hips.
he tucked his blue checkered button up into his jeans.
and the deal maker?
red bow tie.

i went to my school the other day to get my schedule changed.
okay, so maybe i am a little bit excited to start school.
but just a little bit.

i really wish i could pull off red lipstick.
or any lipstick, for that matter.

i'm learning to play "the sound of silence" by Simon and Garfunkel on the piano.
cool, i know.

the end.
may the force be with you.
love,
CasiDee

goals, shmoals.

at EFY, we were told to make a "mid-year goals" list of things that we wanted to accomplish.
we were also told to put this list in a spot that we will see everyday.
i put my list in my typewriter that sits on my dresser next to my door.
everyday as i walk out the door, i read the list to myself.
so that way, i will remember it and work on it throughout the day.
but lets be honest here. i've done squat.
okay, so i've gone running a few times.
and i actually have been trying really hard to listen more in sunday school. i really have!
and i bore my testimony at girls camp.
that's about it.
so i figured, if i were to put my list on my blog, maybe i would actually work on it?
probably not.
but its worth a shot.

*{If you have no idea what my title means,
please click here and listen to the best song ever.
It will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
Your welcome.}

Awkward+Awesome

Awkward: -My friend Cassidy invited me to see Cowboys and Aliens with her and her friend from school. I said “Heck yeah!” because dude? Daniel Craig? And Harrison Ford? Ohhhh dang.
But anyways, after the movie we went over to her friend’s house so that Cassidy and her mom Rockelle could say goodbye to her older brother. (He was leaving for his mission the next morning.) I introduced myself and wished him luck on his mission, then shook his hand. His handshake was SO. WEAK. Seriously guys. This is one of my BIGGEST pet peeves. When I shake a grown man’s hand, his hand shake should be stronger than mine. Wouldn’t you agree? I hate when guys handshakes are all limp and weird. You know?
Anyways, after we left, I explained all of this to Rockelle. She shared the same handshake pet peeve as me, which was refreshing. (I thought I was the only one) I told her not to say anything to anyone at all. Because that would be totally awkward if he found out, right? She promised she wouldn’t tell a soul, and I slept peacefully that night.
Then Sunday came around, and guess what Cassidy tells me? That Rockelle not only told somebody, but she told THE BOY. And not only did she tell the boy, but she told him about ME, and that I said it. At first I was really mad, but then I decided to look at it on the bright side. He was somewhat attractive, and maybe he will remember me…
Who am I kidding. There is no bright side to that. That was just plain ol’awkward.

-I had a sleepover at Laura’s house the other night. We were out in the road with her brother Erik just hanging out and talking and light saber fighting. (no big deal.) Laura and I decided to sit down on the ground so we could look at the stars. As I was sitting down, Laura said: “CasiDee. I think you’re sitting on something…” I stood up and to my surprise, saw that I had sat on a DEAD BIRD THAT WAS MUSHED INTO THE GROUND. You guys, I was so scared/freaked out/worried/grossed out/on the verge of puking that I couldn’t say anything. (This never happens to me! I always have things to say!) Erik started screaming things like “Oh my gosh! CasiDee! Remind me never to hug you ever! Oh gross! Oh GROSS! Ahhhhh!”And Laura was just laughing uncontrollably.

-The missionaries were over the other day (like always) and one of them was petting my dog. Then, out of nowhere, this missionary says: “Oh Gila…you’re worse than a California girl…” I asked him what he meant by this, and he look confused.“You know…because all California girls want is attention…?” I seriously laughed SO. HARD.

-Facebook video chat. Am I the only one who thinks this is awkward beyond awkward? Just because I am friends with someone on facebook doesn’t mean I want to talk to them. With normal chat I can just ignore someone and they will think that I'm not there. (come on, you know you've done this too.) But with video chat they can see when you say no! Dude! SO awkward!
{Laura and I using facebook video chat.}

-My school schedule came in the mail the other day. I died a little bit inside when I saw it.

Awesome: -I’ve gone to the pit of pitas (aka: The Pita Pit.) (aka: better than Disney world.) about 100 times this summer. It’s so so so yummy! And healthy! And yummy! Exclamation point!

- I’ve also been to Old Navy about 100 times this summer. My latest purchase is this really cute mint green cardigan jacket thingy. It’s so comfortable. Oh my dang.

-Speaking of Disney World...guess where I will be on my 16th birthday?!?!?!

-Speaking of my 16th birthday, guess who is going to be 16 in 6 months?!?!?!

-I got the new(ish) David Archuletta CD for like TWO BUCKS at a book store that is going out of business. It even came with a poster. Oh dang! Best two bucks I’ve ever spent!

-I bought some really cute bedding and a really cute mustache pillow from Urban Outfitters today! I am so excited to get them in the mail! :)

EFY

meeting new people. meeting new boys. golden nikes. doin' the stanky leg. talking about star wars during lunch. ukuleles. boys with ukuleles. polaroid cameras. rocking out to justin bieber. long board boy. pizza night, two nights in a row. the boy that said "legit" in his prayer. the hawaiian guy that rocked at singing. being invited to be part of the "brown people picture" because, "i'm pretty cool for a white girl." dances. chanting everything. rocking out to adele late at night. ryan's dance moves. troy's mad piano playing skills. smexy unicorns. putting "J"s in our names. climbing trees. telling every boy we see that they are "SUCH a stud." trying to be gangster. that time when everyone broke out into song in the cafeteria. (i swear it was something straight out of high school musical.) not having to clear my trays. being escorted everywhere i go. getting handed a random note that said: "your awesome." the musical program. testimony meeting. the boy in the kitty vest. eating my weight in skittles (not really.)
Oh man! I could go on and on. Basically, to sum things up:

EFY was so awesome!

The whole group. Our name was "From Every Mountain." We even had a gang sign.
Man, I  miss these guys.

We stayed at Hogwarts. No big deal.

This was our dorm room door. Complete with a note from our counselor, a pola of each of us, and a drawing of my favorite Harry Potter characters. I'm talented, I know. ;)

Lindsay (left) and I, with our new friend Taylor! (middle)
She is seriously the cutest thing ever!! :)

Taylor and I. Chillin like villains.

Me, Taylor and Lindsay.

And, last but not least: My new favorite picture.
True love. Pure love.

especially for youth

This picture was taken on the last day of Freshmen year.
Lindsay and I left campus (totally against the rules) (no big deal)
and went to Panda Express.
It was delicious.
Anyways, the point of this story is that Lindsay is sleeping over tonight.
and then tomorrow we wake up at 6:00 AM
and then we will get in a car and drive for 3 hours.
Why?
Because we are going to EFY!!!!
I am so so so so so excited.
{so if you don't hear from me for awhile, that's why.}

In other news, I cut 3 more inches of my hair. That's 8 inches in total, dudes. What the hey?

Also: AFTER THE FINAL ROSE! ITS ON TONIGHT! and I swear, if Bentley is not there, I will be SO disappointed.

I fell in love with a city called Utrecht.

When I got back from my Europe trip, everyone I talked to would always ask the same question: "What was your favorite part?"
My answer?
Utrecht.
Utrecht is an adorable little town right outside Amsterdam.
It was a lot like Amsterdam, it had the beautiful old buildings, great shopping, (hello zara! hello united colors of benetton! hello lacoste!) delicious gelato, DUTCH FRYS, (also known as: heaven) etcetera.
But it was A LOT less busy, there were no nasty shops or creepy alleyways and no pot smell!!

The hotel we stayed in was amazing. I could live there for the rest of my life. The rooms were beautiful, the grounds were absolutely breathtaking, the people that worked there were so nice, and the breakfast was DELICIOUS.
And that fact that it used to be an old monk monastery and soldier hospital and was totally haunted did not creep me out one bit.
(okay. maybe it creeped me out just a little...)

Basically, I fell in love with a city called Utrecht.

(I really had to go...dont judge.)

( I almost spent 40 euros on this shirt, even though it only came in children sizes. Oh my word, how I loved this shirt.)

(worst chinese ever.)

(best gelato ever.)

(the room in which your baby can do sit ups.)
