THE CRAZIEST PHOTOSHOOT OF MY LIFE

 

The other day my good friend Haley asked if I would model for her. We had this awesome idea of a Lana Del Rey/Priscilla Presley inspired shoot with big hair and red lips and vintage clothing and it was going to be magical, right? Wrong.
I'll spare you all the details but basically everything went wrong. We made the mistake of going to a beauty school to get my hair done, it took literally four hours, and by the time we were done and ready to take pictures it was pitch black outside. Amongst other things.
Not wanting all the time we spent on hair and make up to go to waste, we snapped a few photos outside (which passersby absolutely loved. I got all kinds of comments yelled by hipsters as they sped by on their bikes. Everything from "You look like a manikin!" to "What is she doing...?" to "WURK IT GUUURL!").
Then the owners of this cute little coffee shop/furniture store/plant growing place let us come into their store and take some pictures as they were closing up. They were so kind and we ended up quoting how to lose a guy in ten days the whole entire time.
Happy with how the pictures were coming out, Haley and I parted our separated ways with plans to go back out to Portland the next day and take more photos.
Then, not even five minutes into my drive home, I was rear-ended.
So it was a pretty crazy photoshoot, to say the least.
But Haley is a miracle worker or a magician or something, because the photos turned out amazing.

PRETEND SENIOR PICTURES

The other day I dragged (literally) my friend Laura out to a field in the middle of nowhere to help me take some fake senior pictures. I'm getting my real senior pictures taken by matt clayton in just one week and I wanted to test out some outfits. And OH MY GOSH I'M GETTING MY SENIOR PICTURES TAKE BY MATT CLAYTON. I've only been dreaming of this day since, what? 7th grade? Holy cow am I excited.

Also, can we talk about this camera for a second? I found it at an antique shop the other day and instantly fell in love. I've been in this big "I love America/the American flag is so cool/go boy scouts/go anything that has to do with America" mood lately, so finding that was awesome. All I want to do lately is rock overalls and anything America flag inspired (even though I'm wearing a union jack scarf in these pictures...) and take pictures of cute little boy scouts and join a baseball team...is anyone else feeling this way...?

over spring break i...

grew a mustache,

made cookies with my little sister,

had a photoshoot with my beautiful friend whitney,

and had a sleep over with her too!

and then i hung out with this cutie patootie and helped her make some youtube videos of her singing.

spring break was so much fun, and now i'm even more antsy for summer to come! how was your spring break?

Snow Day

we had a snow day not to long ago, which is kinda freaking ridiculous if you ask me. (whenever i say "ridiculous", i think of that one episode of modern family where the dad says: "ridicu-licious!" I swear i almost peed my pants from laughing.)
anyways, i took a bunch of pictures of my sister in the snow. here they are! :)

I got Lightroom 3, and I'm not really sure how to use it. I edited all these pictures with it, but i'm not sure if i like the outcome or not. they are all really contrast-y (is that a word?) which isn't really my thing...

but she's cute, so its all good. ;)

okay also,  i just have to say that i'm reading "the hunger games" and it is seriously rocking my world. i cant put it down. in fact, i am reading it as i am writting this. thats how crazy good it is. and i pretty much dominate at multitasking. just sayin.

she is seriously the cutest thing ever.

So yeah, there you have it. My sister in the snow. in march. goodness gracious.
